The Mizzou Athletic Training Center had some walls covered in old vinyl prints that needed to be updated. We wanted to display all of the Mizzou players that now play in the NFL but when using the vinyl it meant that we had to replace the entire thing every year due to some players changing teams. To keep cost down I pitched the idea to switch our approach. Instead I suggested that we create individual panels for each player so that we could simply reprint over the same panels whenever a player changed teams. The people upstairs loved the idea. So, in collaboration with my Art Director, Kyle Morris, we went on to concept, plan, design, and install what has proven to be a great new addition to the building. A big part of our job at the MATC is recruiting young men to come play football here and help them on their way to the NFL. Keeping with this theme we included our #WhoIsNext campaign into this artwork, and the halls of the MATC have exploded in response. Every kid that has walked past these since they went up has said something about how THEY will be the next man on that wall, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
